Smbataberd is one of the best-preserved medieval fortresses in Armenia and it takes around 1 hour to reach there.

Then we will proceed towards the monastic complex Tsaghats Kar, which is approximately a 2-hour hike from Smbataberd.
The site Tsaghats Kar consists of two groups of structures, separated by a distance of 200 meters (656 feet), and it will leave a huge impression on you. The upper complex, in particular, always appears mysterious to hikers.
Inside the Tsaghats Kar complex, visitors can explore Surb Hovhannes church, constructed in 989, Surb Karapet church dating back to the 10th century, and numerous other edifices that currently lie in a state of disrepair.
Afterward, we will descend to the village of Eghegis and conclude our hike near Zorats Monastery!
